About Alpacas of Wales

View of a part of Alpacas of Wales' land

Alpacasof Wales was established in early 2003 not long after we bought our smallholding and when we realised that we needed some livestock to help keep our very grassy pasture under control!!

Not keen on the usual choices of sheep, goats or cattle, we came across some information about alpacas, attended a fact finding course and fell in love with these intriguing intelligent creatures – shortly afterwards our 3 new girls arrived and we were on our way!

18 cria later, a recent addition of 3 Suri girls, and two Stud males we are the proud owners of a herd of 32 alpacas......needless to say, alpacas are now a way of life and it’s hard to imagine them not being around.

Our second generation cria were born in September 2006 and we are thrilled with the quality we have achieved by sticking to our plan of using the very best Stud males over our girls.

Our second generation cria will be born in September 2006 so we are very excited to see what we have achieved in just three very busy years. Needless to say, alpacas are now a way of life and it is difficult to imagine them not being around!

Alpacas of Wales is a registered breeder with the British Alpaca Society and all our animals are microchipped and registered with the society. We abide by the industry’s recognised and approved Code of Conduct when selling animals.
